Julie L. Strom provides representation and legal counsel to Liebert Cassidy Whitmore clients out of our Los Angeles office in matters pertaining to education, employment and labor law.
Julie works extensively with LCW’s private school clients on a wide range of matters, including enrollment agreements, employment contracts, Board and governance matters, investigations, tuition disputes, employee and student/parent handbooks, disciplinary issues, mandated reporting, terminations and severance agreements. Julie also trains on subjects such as mandatory reporting, harassment, employee evaluations, personal boundaries, family conflicts, and international travel.
Julie also advises and trains LCW’s nonprofit and camp clients on employment and wage and hour issues.
Julie is an experienced investigator and conducts employment-related investigations for both private and non-profit organizations as well as public agencies. She has conducted investigations on allegations of harassment, as well as other employee and student misconduct.
Prior to joining LCW, Julie’s practice focused on in-house non-profit corporate law where she was counsel for the ACLU national office. This background in tax-exempt law helps Julie assist LCW’s non-profit private school clients with governance issues, as well as advising them regarding political activity such as lobbying and electioneering. Julie also has experience working in the employment law arena, providing counseling and representing management in a wide range of employment matters.
In addition to her law degree, Julie holds a LLM in Dispute Resolution from the Straus Institute, Pepperdine School of Law in Malibu, California. During her program she completed externships at the EEOC Mediation Program and the UCLA Office of Ombuds Services.
